Professional puppetry and training for your production

Character design and construction

The Sinilos workshop designs and builds custom puppets, muppets and characters for production companies, advertising agencies and audiovisual projects. Each character is unique: we develop the form, personality and movement of the puppet from the very first sketch.

We master a range of techniques — hand-and-rod muppets, bunraku, photo puppets — combining them to meet the technical and narrative demands of each production.

Consultation and puppetry on set

We coordinate the puppetry team and work closely with the production company, director and creative team from pre-production through to the last day of the shoot.

Every scene is analysed in detail —shot type, what the characters need to do, whether they are seen full body, difficulty of manipulation— to define which technique best meets each requirement and anticipate its implications for production and post-production.

We determine what needs to be built, perform the characters on set and oversee the work alongside the team to ensure the original vision comes to life flawlessly.

On-set reference rigging for CGI

For productions with digital characters, Sinilos puppeteers hold a physical rig on set — control points, a maquette or a silhouette fitted with tracking markers — that pins down the exact height, position and eyeline of the character that will later be animated by computer.

This physical presence gives actors a real point to interact with and look at, and gives the VFX team an accurate reference for scale, lighting and movement that greatly eases the CGI integration in post-production.

We work hand in hand with the visual effects department to define the required control points ahead of the shoot and ensure the on-set performance stays consistent with the final character.

Training in television puppet performance

A hands-on space to discover the expressive range of the television puppet. From the very first session, participants work with real puppets: Muppet-style manipulation, lip sync, on-camera presence and character acting.

Courses and workshops for actors, animators, puppeteers and production teams who want to bring this type of character into their audiovisual work.
